Quick Starting Clamp Method

Requires: (2) double string flying/floating clamps, and a starting clamp.

Set outside starting clamp

Place first left main into starting clamp tightly against outside of the frame.Manually pull slack out of loop. Place other side of loop, first right main, into tension head.

The quick starting clamp method is very efficient if a starting clamp is handy.

The flying clamps are shown in blue, the starting clamp is in green. Segments of string that are not directly tensioned are shown in yellow.

Finish Right Mains Start

Clamp untensioned 1st left main and tensioned 1st right main with double clamp close to tension head. Thread, tension and clamp 2nd right main using the other side of the 1st right main and the 2nd right main.

Tension Left main and reclamp inside

Tension 1st main on the left, then remove the starting clamp, and the top clamp, tensioning the left first main. Replace top clamp.
