Basic ATW

Requires: no extra gear needed, normal 1 piece short side/long side lengths
This pattern allows a stringer to string crosses top to bottom using 1 string piece on racquets with the mains normal pattern ending at the throat.

Video Demonstration

This YULitle video demonstrates basic ATW pattern.

Leave outermost long side main

String all mains except for the long side outer main. Tie off short side at normally at bottom. When clamping the next to last long side main, don't block the 1st cross, and be sure not to block the 2nd cross if the total number of crosses is odd.

String 1st OR 2nd cross

If the total number of crosses is even, using the long side, weave the 1st (top) cross. If the total number of crosses is odd, using the long side, weave the 2nd (skip the top) cross. This will make sure the crosses end on the side with the missing main. Note that you will likely have to move the right clamp on the main to thread and tension the next cross.

Finish crosses

Continue weaving and tensioning crosses until finished. Weave and tension the missing main.

Finish

On racquets with total number of crosses odd, weave and tension the top cross. Tie off long side.
